As we edge closer and closer to the fateful day when the new CPSIA consumer toy laws go into effect the craft community is speaking out at record pace trying to collect their thoughts, assess the status of these new laws and attempt determine what it will mean for the future of independent toy maker. This show will also represent the completion of year one of the Dolls for friends project. We are amazed that it has only been 365 days since we really started our little plush/art endeavor.

If the Ugly Dolls had a rager that ended in carnage, and the splattered remains of the cloth creatures were miraculously reassembled, Frankenstein-style, you would have Dolls for Friends. Strangely, they’re pretty damn adorable and even appropriate for the preschool set.
