Hip, hip hooray!! Hip, hip hooray!! Today is a good day, a GREAT day, a HAPPY day! Why? Because we have been given a year, 365 days to keep working. The CPSIA has voted unanimously to give a one year repreve to creators of children’s products from third party testing. This will allow time for the law to be refined and the gray areas cleared up and rewritten in a way that will hopefully be more reasonable for us! In the meantime of course, manufacturers have to comply with the safety laws in place for lead paint, small parts and pieces and phalates. But, we have hope, and we have time and we can create without looking over our shoulder, or worse, close shop. Thanks to all for the time and energy signing petitions, writing to congress people, making phone calls and rallying together to support this very important industry, childhood.
