It’s a Wonderful Project
We have been using the alternative ad project, Project Wonderful, for the last six months to place ads for Dolls for Friends on a variety of sites. What we love about PW is the fact that they have an advertising base that we consider to be very near and dear to our hearts-online comics, sci-fi, tech and other obscure (some might call nerdy) sites.
Their ad system is based on a bidding process whereby if you are the top bidder for the per day cost you own the ad. That’s right! No outrageous, ream the advertiser, we suck all of the money out of you by charging you a crap load of money based on where you live and where you advertise. It’s simple. You bid, you win, you own the space. And we love simple.
We do a lot of advertising on our site for shows that we are taking part in, but we also receive quite a few requests from upcoming shows that we are not in. Sadly, we cannot accommodate all of them as we would like, so we figured we would give everybody a space on the site for literally as low as 0 cents a day (yes, the first advertiser gets the space for free). We will still continue to do write-ups for a variety of functions, but we are hoping that others will find our site to be a useful springboard to advertise their upcoming events.
