Slow Down You’re Too Fast
We had a fairly good day at Saturday’s Portland Handmade show. The attendance was far less than what anyone thought it would be, but the show suffered from a last minute venue change and weaker advertising than what it should’ve been. The real benefit of the day, though, came not from our interaction with the public, but from our interactions with the other artists at the show.
I’m just amazed at how open and friendly the other artists are within the Portland community. Everyone we have talked with is very willing to share information and help out other artists as they get their feet under them. It’s a very give and take environment, which we hope to contribute to in the coming weeks and months.
A special thanks to Merritt from PDX Softgoods (pdxsoftgoods.com) and Sarah from Two Sarahs (twosarahs.etsy.com) for being the friendly, talented and open artists that they are. Check out a few photos from the event on our Flickr site.
